Regional Perinatal Center

The Regional Perinatal Center is a state-designated center for the care of mothers experiencing high-risk pregnancies and their newborns.   The center cares for women in the 12 counties of northwest Illinois.

The Department of Maternal-Fetal Medicine is an outpatient service that is dedicated to providing patients with the latest and most advanced resources in prenatal diagnosis and therapy.  State-of-the-art technology is available to help manage complicated pregnancies, while maintaining a warm, caring environment.

For mothers requiring hospitalization during pregnancy, Rockford Memorial Hospital houses a high-risk perinatal unit.  This 11-bed unit is designed to care for mothers in a nurturing environment who are experiencing complications during pregnancy.

Rockford Health System has assembled a team of perinatologists who provide the highest-quality of care to our patients.  Together, they have years of advanced training caring for mothers experiencing high-risk pregnancies.  Our physicians are supported by exemplary staff, including registered diagnostic sonographers, a certified nurse midwife, and registered nurses, as well as a registered dietitian and certified diabetes educator.
