Critical Care

Rockford Memorial Hospital has two critical care units that care for patients who have the most serious, and often life-threatening, injuries and illnesses.

Both units are staffed by a team of highly trained critical care and specialty physicians and nurses who provide constant, close monitoring using specialized equipment.

In 2012, Rockford Memorial Hospital became the first local hospital to launch the most advanced telemedicine program available in hospital critical care units today.

To do this, we partnered with Advanced ICU Care®, the nation’s largest independent tele-ICU provider, to provide critical care monitoring 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our critical care team directs the care of patients in the RMH critical care units, while intensivists from Advanced ICU Care use state-of-the-art technology in a centralized monitoring center to observe and evaluate critically ill patients around the clock.
