Anesthesiology

Anesthesiologists administer anesthesia to relieve pain and manage vital life functions, including breathing, heart rhythm, blood pressure, brain function, and kidney function during surgery.

They also manage and treat medical problems that may be present before surgery, or that may develop during or immediately after surgery.

The anesthesiology staff at Rockford Health System consists of only board-certified/eligible anesthesiologists. They are medical doctors who have completed a four-year undergraduate degree, four years of medical school, and an anesthesiology residency training program.
