Osteoporosis is a serious and common health problem. And it doesn’t just affect women—approximately 20 percent of people with osteoporosis are men.
Fortunately, osteoporosis can often be prevented and/or treated. Getting informed and tested can make a difference in your quality of life. You are never too young or too old to start taking better care of your bones.
The Osteoporosis Center’s experienced technologists and interpreting physicians offer an important diagnostic tool to rule out, confirm, or quantify bone loss, or to monitor the effectiveness of treatment. Bone density (DXA) testing is a simple, painless procedure that provides reliable information.
We offer bone density testing at two locations: Rockford Health Physicians – North Rockton Avenue and The Women’s Center at Rockford Health System.
We also use a portable Lunar Achilles ultrasound unit to offer screenings at health fairs.
